I say *negative* zero because it is horrible. I do have some debts from over seven years ago, as I am 27 years old, and I started getting items on my credit report from the age of about 20 years old. Well, due to my youthful stupidity, I never did anything about it, but now I want to see about buying a home for myself and my two children. I need to know what to do. I am afraid I will not be able to afford a credit counseling service because my income averages only 1700 to 2000 per month, and I need to know what to do from here. Which items should I start paying on? And how much per month? Also, how much will my credit score raise per month? And when will it be safe for me to apply for a home loan? Thank you so much! I have not yet attempted it because I know I will be denied. Also, should I apply for a credit card or anything like that, as I have heard that making payments on those can also raise your score. I've just passed my driving test and am really confused about how to go about getting insurance under my mums / dads names. The car would be under their name but i just want to be the main driver of it. My mum rang up tesco for a quote on how much it would be, but she said under my name and on my own insurance. The insurance company wants to total the car. I do not. The insurance adjuster's estimate and the body shop's estimate is below the insurance company's valuation of the car (even adjusting for the insurance company's salvage value). The policy defines when they can total the car, when the repair cost is greater than the value + salvage value. It is not there yet. The insurance company is also cheating by unreasonably saying the value is low but even with that, the repair is less. How to I go about changing an insurance company bureaucracy so that they follow the policy?

I am thinking of getting my driver's license in about seven months (when i turn 18), but i am a bit discouraged by the quotes for car insurance that i have been given. I was told that car insurance for new driver's is about $3500 per year (and this is with a 40% discount for maintaining a 4.0 GPA). If i am put on my parent's insurance plan, it will still cost me $1100 per year (i have to make up the difference caused by adding me to their policy). Is this the normal rate for insurance for new driver's? Any other way to lower the cost? Any help would be greatly appreciated because i really want to learn to drive but the cost is so great...especially since i will be starting college next year.
